so i finally got my truck home and on the way home my mom calls me and says that my tail lights were working then all the sudden went out. well i did do some rewiring on my parking lights because i added some lights and just spliced them into those. when doing so i accidentally touched the wires together and blew a fuse, so to finish working on them i just pulled a fuse from another location to use then put back when i was done. so the question at hand is are the parking lights and tail lights all wired to the same fuse. even tho my mom said they were working then all the sudden went out. and that was after i already put the fuse back in its original location.
thanks again everyone
i'd put all the fuses you moved around back with the correct rated fuse. the manual will show you what goes where. (the fuse box cover may as well, not sure). then I'd go check all the connections and things you did when messing with the wiring and make sure everything is sealed up the way it's supposed to. be generous with the electrical tape.
well the fuses are in the correct location, except for the one that i burnt out. but ill go buy a new one a little later. and no fuse cover, didn't come with the truck when i bought. and my book is at my dads place. just figured id ask to see if anyone knew if all those exterior lights hooked up together. even my license plate lights don't work. but thanks again.
Seriously, all the marker lights should be on 1 fuse. This includes the front/side/tail/tag lights. I cannot remember if the dash lights are also on the same fuse. I *think* they may have a seperate fuse, since too many people try using the blue/red wire for a radio ground, and it's for the radio light......
I know GM had the dash lights and all running lights (minus headlamps) on 1 fuse......
