I just ran up on a 1996 F350PSD duelly 7.3. For me parts truck??...Man says new injectors,HPOP, Truck is not running, He says electrical problem..?? are all these parts, interchangable with my 03???? maybe rebuild 96 for a spare????he is asking 1000.00 for the truck, said he would take a reasonable offer.. I am thinking 750.00...He swears the motor and trans is good.....270000 miles........Opnions please
If you've got some spare time and a place to park it, then if the problem is really electrical, you could always fix it and make money selling it as a running truck.
Not too much on that truck is interchangeable with yours. Unless HPOP was upgraded, it's a 15 deg instead of the 17 deg you have. Different injectors, weaker IDM, different tranny, etc.
Selling it for parts (if they all work) should easily recoup your $750 price in case you can't get the electrical figured out. I'd take the oil cap off and flip it upside down on the fill tube and try to crank the motor to make sure there's not a dead hole.
couldnt you use the block (assuming it doesnt have a hole) as a possible replacement for your own? i'm thinking forged rods...
Yes you could use the block, just need a block off plate for the fuel pump hole. Of course if it were me, and I picked up a spare engine with 270,000 miles on it, I'd do a complete rebuild, including new forged rods.
yea. Just for OP, might be a good find stirctly because of the price. If you have the capital to afford it, and a place to keep it, seems like something that would/could be made into a good purchase
