Angry i got keyed

I am so mad! Someone took it upon themselves to introduce my truck to their pocket knife and left a nice little mark from the driver side door all the way to the middle of the back fender! What a jerk! Someone's to friggin chicken to tell me to my face! What kinda crap is that?! Any good ideas for alarms guys? There's one at O'Reilleys that I would get as a last resort kinda thing unless someone can tell me it works great! I'm going to call the electronics shops tomorrow for pricing on installation. There's one shop that if you buy a specific alarm, you get free window tinting...if it does what I want it to, I'll probably go for that but I'm blind on this. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! And also, how hard is it to put an internal hood release on a 79 f100??

Sorry to hear that Connie, always some low life out there who thinks its cool or whatever to destroy someone elses property. I'm sorry I cant be of any help with the alarms. Never had one and hope I never feel the need to get one installed. And maybe someone else can help with the internal hood release. Wow, I really havent helped you at all.

Best of luck,

Sorry to hear it, I myself fell victim to radio thieves, twice. I bought a prestige alarm from a local radio shop. he cut me a real deal and I only paid $50 with keyless entry and remote start. like I said, he made deal. Anyway, an alarm wont do you much good unless your real close to the vehicle. Even if you get a remote pager, by the time you get outside, the damage is done.

Alarms vary in price and features.
I know of one that has a sensor that sets the warbler off if a person gets too close.
They are expensive though.

Original Ford Locking Hood release system?
I have a couple left.
They are easy to put in.
The hardest part is drilling the hole in the firewall in the right place.

you could always paint it with bedliner...

Sorry to hear about it.

As for alarms, they don't tend to work real well because everyone is used to hearing them go off because of thunder, fireworks, kids with newspapers, etc. I don't think random strangers are going to investigate an alarm going off except to silence it after it gets annoying. Most shut off after a certain period off time anyway. If you are worried about someone breaking the windows to get in, you're best off with smashproof / bulletproof glass

Thanx for the info. I went ahead and bought the O'Reiley's cheapy becuz it'll do what I want it to and I put it in today. It seems to be working like I want it to. I mainly wanted it in case someone comes to mess with it at my house becuz there are plenty of jerks running around that would do stupid crap like that. I also bought a locking gas cap. I want to get the internal hood release for it but I don't know where to start lookin. Dennis, you've got my email bud so if you've got what I'm looking for, let me know and I'll see if I can afford what you're wanting. Too many people I know know enough to really screw my engine up.

Well shoot, I'm sorry to hear about that. My lil sister's car got keyed too. They had to repaing or replace every body panel on her Cougar except for the front bumper.

As for a good alarm, I found that a Rott or a Boxer do pretty good. A German Sheperd aint bad either. Even my Blue Healers hold their own agains would be thieves and the such, even though their just ranch dogs.

A 12 gauge shot gun and/or a .40-.45 cal handgun works good too.

Bryan, you always are good for a laugh! I wanted a blue heeler but living with my grandmother doesn't really allow for one becuz she doesn't want a 'big dog' in the house. I love those dogs but I can't find any around here. No puppies or anything. Anytime I call the pet stores or look in the paper there are no blue heelers...it's sad. Someday I'll get me one even if I have to drive long distances to get one, I will...lol. It's not to bad a scratch but I put an alarm on it today and it seems to be working fine so far. I've set it off 2 x's myself. I guess we'll see what happens now.
