Auto trans flush
Got a flyer in the mail from Ford Dealership about a discount on trans flush,read the fine print wich list fluid and filter additional charge,called service dept. to find out total cost. Service writer told me he doesn't recommend the flush, just drop pan and clean screen. Asked about flush and he said it would cause trans. problems. Does this make since?

It makes sense that a service writer told you that. There is a reason they are in a glass bubble wearing a short sleeve shirt with a tie.
Find another dealer, or at least a wiser SW, and get the flush. No need to drop the pan, just have them change the external filter.

Yup! the pan filter is only a screen ,, and to change fluid in these you have to have a heated flush ,, the fluid circulation is temp controlled so the old disconnect a cooler line and fill /drain as she's running doesn't work
