Being a trim/ cabinet guy now after framing for <25> years, is it too early to start nit-picking?

HA!
Is that a travertine floor? I like it. The cabinets look like oak, I like it. Laundry off the kitchen, I like it. Countertops, can't quite tell, but the edges look too sharp to be granite. Melamine, or arborite? Easy to clean, I like it.
Oh, I know. But it is so easy to pick apart a brand new house. Hell, mine is almost 4 years old, and there's stuff I'm finding still, that I missed 4 years ago. You develop an eye for it I guess.

Wicked looking rancher, nice house dude. Love it.
The floor is porcelain tile. It's throughout the house. No carpet anywhere. The countertops are high def laminate. Granite was just too pricey and I used most of my upgrade money on energy saving upgrades. I figure it's best to do those now and we can do the fluff upgrades as we go.

Oh there things that we are not satisfied with. We have a list two pages long that we are going over with the builder tomorrow.

I'm not nit-picking.....()......Fireplace? Chimney? Just curious.
.........And ditto on the side-entry garage. Great.
No fireplace. We have one in our current house and it just never gets used. It's too damned hot down here in Houston. We opted for a big flat wall where the fireplace would have been. 60" LCD television going where the fireplace would have been.
Thanks for the compliments everyone. Big barbecue after it cools down here a bit. An open invite will be on FTE. I know a few of the guys from our diesel forum said they were coming. All FTE members are welcome.
*I'm not an expert on Texas climate, but lived in San Antonio Aug---Jan 2004/05......and again in Jan/Feb 2009........And I remember the winters being cold as Hell...and even snowy.......
Maybe San-Antone has a more continental climate or something (than Houston)......
