Im knee deep into an inframe that I should NOT be doing alone. Started out just changing gaskets. Sigh. Looking for bore, piston, clearance, and ring specs for a '66 300ci 6cyl. Im hoping to save the pistons assuming tolerances are still good, but every compression ring is in pieces. If Im missing anything else, its ignorance not failed memory.
Welcome to FTE!
Congrats on your efforts, don't worry - this is how U learn. I gotta have another ride as back up (prts runnin, commuter etc, cuz everything takes longer than expected).
Great post, handle and rig.
Wow, you're up late!
Yeah, I love that p.o.s. My buddies climb hills in their nice new trucks. I climb trees in that Frankenstein. Can wait to see what it runs like without 5 broken rings. Im not looking for a total rebuild so I thing Im just gonna clean up the stock pistons and just go with whatever rings Napa comes up with. Still need to know the gap, but I do have a Chilton on the way.
