I found a site that shows step by step how to change the rear diff fluid. Here. But it's for a 2002 SD. Can these steps be used on my 2007? Thanks in advance.
Consider using fresh, clean oil to flush the bottom of the housing a bit --- and only change oil when it is warm --- to pick up the maximum of contaminants.

You might consider getting one of the upgraded '08MY diff covers...around $45 at dealer with discount or FordPartsGuy.com or TascoParts.com....saves having to clean up the OEM steel one that rust.

Called up my local Ford Dealer (hear in canada) they want $97.50. I think I'll clean mine and paint it with some heat resistant flat black paint. Looks nice anyway. Maybe when mine rusts out I'll replace it.
