I found a site that shows step by step how to change the rear diff fluid. Here. But it's for a 2002 SD. Can these steps be used on my 2007? Thanks in advance.
Consider using fresh, clean oil to flush the bottom of the housing a bit --- and only change oil when it is warm --- to pick up the maximum of contaminants.

Called up my local Ford Dealer (hear in canada) they want $97.50. I think I'll clean mine and paint it with some heat resistant flat black paint. Looks nice anyway. Maybe when mine rusts out I'll replace it.
