I'm getting ready to make a rear bumper for my truck. I had planned on just doing something the same size as the front F600 bumper, but I was curious if anyone had any pictures or ideas.
Also, does anyone have any pictures of how the stock bumper on a '53-56 f100 or f250 was? I'm trying to see where they originally where at height wise and how far out they went out from the tailgate and what not.
Alot of older trucks, heck and even trucks up through the 90's didn't come stock with a bumper, they were accessories.
A lot of th eolder trucks had the step type bumpers added on. Typically of the type that wrapped around the fenders and went all the way to the rear wheel openings. On trucks that are being made hot rods these bumpers aren't very desireable but on your big ol rig I think they would look pretty cool.
I was thinking about one of those, lol though I don't think the step could really be used as it would be at least 3' off the ground, lol. Maybe as a bench though
Definitely beefy. Even if it was just a bumper done in the F100 style, it would still have to be a 1/4" thick and a lot taller and wider. I keep hearing how the F600's front bumper is only different with the wrap around corners, but there is no way it's not completely different, despite being thicker that thing is also frankly just a whole lot bigger. I looked at F100 bumpers and they just look like they'd be crushed if the two faced off, lol
What I really need to do is the next time another effie owner stops by in his truck is get some pictures of the two side by side. This thing really is a whole lot bigger than it looks in the pictures, I need something next to it to compare it to...
