I have a 97 F250 7.3L XLT. I replaced the clutch slave cylinder about 3 years ago when i was having trouble putting into gear. The same thing started occuring again, i replaced the slave and it still will not go into gear, the clutch is not disengaging. Is the next step replacing the clutch master cylinder?
Thanks, it ended up the bushing fell out of the master cylinder pushrod and caused the rod and clutch lever to wear. Replaced the lever and master cylinder and fixed the problem. The ford dealer said this is a common occurrence, when i went to get parts i told him the problem and he didnt even look up the part just walked around the corner and picked them up, its that common.

Yessir, you'll see that on here a lot. I've seen some guys talking about a fix to that problem that can be purchased on ebay but I'm not sure what it's called or where to look.
heim joint!!!! and yes they dont last. you'll probably replace that one in a year again. once the rod wears it tears up the new plastic bushings fast. heim joint is the way to go.
I am going to order one so when i have to take the blasted thing off agian i can replace it. I just watched a video of the install and it looked easy I just didnt enjoy taking the pivot lever off the spline joint. Thanks all for the info.
