so how bout a little info on on your truck. so what kind of tires are you looking for and AT or MT? what are you looking to do with your truck afterwards?
I dont do much offroading, so i was going with a mastercraft ct tire, i just dont want the wheels to look to big under a 2 inch lift, or if i should just go ahead with 305s

my swampers aren't 315's they are closer to the 305 (33's) my wheels are 16x10 mickey thompson II's. the 315 with no lift looks really tight and i plan on putting 315 terra grapplers this summer and a 2 and 1/2 " leveling kit. then she'll look really sharp. next year she's getting painted midnight blue!
i dont think so at all.i mean ya it gives it a bit stuffed look but because they are not mudders i think its perfect.definately isnt stuffed like my truck but its a good look on it
honestly if you dont majorly offroad i'd do 315s.he goes to the desert n plays around and if he hits hard he'll rub but he doesnt do anything crazy.so it gets the job done and looks good imo.
Do you just want the tires for looks? The reason I'm asking is it seems to be a 10" wheel is pretty wide. A 315mm tire is about 12.5" wide and if you go with a 305mm tire that's about 12" wide (it varies depending on the tire manufacturer and the wheel). So, depending on if it's for looks, mileage, tire life you might consider other width wheels or it may sway you on tire width. I'm not saying one is better than the other, because I don't know how you'll use your truck, but for me, I like a narrower wheel and a narrower tire. You're less like to rub with narrower tires/wheels, depending on the offset/backspacing.
So, if your truck is a daily driver, to and from work you might consider some things more important. If you tow a trailer, you might consider other things important. Or, maybe you just want something that looks better than stock.
By the way, the 315 or 305 refer to the width in millimeters and the 75 is the percentage of that width as the aspect ratio. You probably know all that, but if you don't, you need to realize if you keep the aspect ratio at 75 and change the width, you also change the overall height of the tire. So, if you go from a 315 to a 305 or vice versa you are changing how it will rub not just because the tire is wider/narrower but also because it's taller (taller goes deeper into the wheel well when you turn so it's more likely to rub your leaf, or the opposite direction and possibly into the front bumper or the inner fender).
Im going more for looks I will do occaisonal offroading but nothing extreme i have 285 75s on now they are just in bad shape, so i was wanting to go with a 16x10 mickey thompson with 305 or 315 75s all terrains
305/70r16 will be the same diameter as what you have now. I have them on mine with 16X10's (with -38 offset) and plow package, so roughly the same as 2 inch leveling kit. Had to trim the bumper and tie back the fender liner, but nowhere close to rubbing the leafs. Depends really what kind of look you want, but they're both gonna stick way out. Personally I think 315s look too cramped without a lift.
