Never heard of Xact plug wires. Many here use Ford Racing wires with great results. I use the Ford wires, copper Autolite plugs, and a MSD coil. I have my plugs gapped @0.55". I just recently bumped the timing from 12 BTDC to 16 degrees. Truck seems to have better power as well as increasing the idle vacuum in park from 15" to just over 20".

Time will tell if the MPGs come up.

Stock specs are .044" gap, and timing set at 10 degrees BTC.

I believe Xact are a store brand/generic part carried by either Advance Auto Parts or Autozone.

Cap and rotor should also be replaced.
