...As many here I suppose, I've been having tranny issues with the infamous E4OD lately. The Overdrive tends to get stuck and doesn't seem to want to shift towards the last gear (3rd or 4th?). The engine gets revved up to 3.000 or a bit more RPM before it shifts to O/D. When I push the O/D button in the shifter stick, it sometimes goes into OD and RPMs thus go down but not all the time. The Tranny ws rebuilt in early 2007 with moderate mileage ever since. A few weeks ago the tranny was shifting roughly, especially from 1st to 2nd, issue which was solved when I applied an antifriction oil additive.
Could this be a simple maintenance or an A/T technician issue?
Now, if it turns out the A/T needs to be serviced, and the cost to repair vs. downgrading to a C-6 tranny is the same (I believe), is it worth the swap? (my first Bronco had a C-6 on a 300 BB6 engine and ran even with very little ATF due to leaks). I think an AOD tranny is harder to find down here...
Thank you in advance for your insights
