Turn signal problem

Ok, been checking over everything prior to our UK MOT test & found a problem with the turnsignals:

- Passenger side works perfect, good steady speed on/off & dash indicator matches

- Drivers side - flashes on/off at half the speed of the passenger side for some reason, and the dash indicator light whilst flashing in time with it doesn't entirely go out with each flash.

- If I put the hazard lights switch on though, both work perfectly on/off in time, without any problems at all.

Any ideas where to look or how/what to check? Would it be a grounding issue? All ideas appreciated I need to sort it by next week!! Its an EZ wiring harness by the way if that makes any difference.

First thing I would do is check my flasher relay. Just because its the easiest thing. Then check ALL the grounds in that circuit starting at the bulb holder. Sounds just like a ground issue. You checked both front and back bulbs to make sure they are both flashing?
EDIT: Does your hazzard lights go through the same relay?

Are the bulbs all lighting? It is more likely a bulb that isn't drawing enough current on the side that flashes slow. Some bulbs have the same size/shape but are rated for fewer candlepower. If you use an electronic flasher it won't matter. They are only $10, but only for 12v as far as I know.

All bulbs light up - I have new pros pick LED bed roll lights as turn signals on the back, with small LED lights in the dash. front turn signals are normal bulbs.

Also how do i check a flasher relay? There are two flasher relays in the EZ fuse box itself. I'm not great with wiring so treat me like a beginner I won't be offended!!

LED's don't draw enough current for a thermal type flasher. You have to use an electronic.

Its the silver round thing that plugs into your fuse block. Just disconnect your battery and pull it out and go get another one. I had the same problem with EZ wiring flasher and put in a new for about 5 bucks and no more issues. If that does work, we can walk you through checking everything else.

Good Luck.

Belay my last, Albuq is right about the LED draw. You can get those at a local parts store too.

Thanks for all the tips!
Checked through everything today - swapped the relays around first (made no difference) so that ruled those out as a problem. Next I checked every ground wire with the electrical meter - all perfect. Mmmnnn I thought, this is starting to seriously wind me up now........

Eventually I traced the fault to: the brand new parking light fitting I got from midfifty a while back. Turns out the rear wire entry into the bulb holder was twisted inside the sheath. The bulb was therefore literally touching the contacts inside the fitting by the tiniest tiny amount. A bit of picking and prodding and hey presto it all works properly!!!

Small things eh!!!!
