banks turbo oil leak

Just got back from the 6 day memorial day weekend camping trip and the 80 mile drive there i noticed that the pyro was reading way higher than normal. I was only towing about 2500lbs and 500lbs in the bed and it was nothing for me to hit 1200 degrees going up the hills at 65mph in 5th gear. I have towed much heavier on this same route and never went above 1000 degrees. when we got to our destination i opened the hoop and noticed that the back side and lower left side of the turbo had lots of oil leaking on it. I have no idea if it is an oil return line or what. I was hoping maybe somebody had a picture of theirs and could explain to me what is what since i don't know turbos to well.

How much oil did the engine consume?

Which turbo system do you have?

How'd the exhaust look? Mine was good and smoky when it ingested oil.

Might be the turbo bearing too but I don't imagine the outside housing would be that dirty.

it is a banks sidewinder and when i checked the oil after the whole trip it was maybe 1/2 quart at most. i did not notice the exhaust to look an different but i could smell what seemed like burning oil. I has dripped down to the bottom of the motor and now is all over the exhaust pipe.

the bands sidewinder non waste-gated turbo takes it's oil intake from under the turbo where the stock oil pressure sending unit should be.
the oil outlet comes out of the turbo with a steel tube that goes into the valley where the CDR valve was stock. it is very possible that the turbo oil seal is leaking.
