What is this exactly and how do i change it?
Trans came out of a 94 f250 and is going into a 96 f250. The plug on the 94 trans has a different housing around it (two things to disconnect the plug vs. 1 on the 96). how do i get around this problem?
kind of hard to tell from the pic, but it is on the passanger side of the trans and is the only other plug in on it besides the shifter linkage (black plug in) i broke this one trying to pull it out and need to get this truck up and going by tuesday. any thoughts?
That plug is part of the solenoid pack and you would either have to use the one out of the other transmission if it is good or buy another one.
Note that the seal after 95 is part of the wiring harness so you need to buy a pack that is 95 or newer to fit your wiring harness.
You have to take the pan and filter off to change it.
so using one out of a 94 wont work for this swap? that really sucks. they are probably exxpensive as he!! Could i cut the pluf off of the 94 and splice it in? probably not recommended as it would probably get wet and short out...
I though you broke the one on the 94.
That is why I said use the on out of the 96.
The 94 plug will not fit your harness.
I guess if you have the 94 harness plug you could use the 94 solenoid pack (not taking the transmissions pan off) and splice the 94 harness plug onto your 96 truck harness.
You may have to do the same on the MLPS also if the plugs are different.

sorry, i got my trans years mixed up. The 94 was the one that was rebuilt and put into the truck and has the wrong plug in it. The 96 trans that i took out is the one that i broke because i didnt know how to remove it. Would i be able to use a dremel and cut off the plastic on the other side of the plug? so that that side is smooth and will be able to fit the connector over it? or do these have pins in different locations?
