Front end swap questions....
Got my donor truck home today. (I'll post pics later on) It's a 79 F150 Custom 4x4. Thinking I might just swap the whole front end to my 77.
So what am I getting into? Going from single to dual shock mounts, and adding the 79 sway bar set up from what I can tell. I'm guessing all this will bolt right on to the 77, I see the holes in the frame for the shock mounts, and at a glance see where the sway drop should bolt to the frame mid radius arm area.
I'll double check ratios before I go all in, might end up throwing the 79 rear end on it, too. Any suggestions before I jump in head first?
Also, the 79 has a nice front bumper with the trim pad around it, along with the vertical bumper guards. Is this a straight up swap? Are there differences in the mounts or frames in the 79 and 77 models?
