new motor need help

hello im new at this but i need some help.i have a 1992 f-150 4x4 and it has a 5.8 efi. i would love to get rid of all the smog stuff and go carb. i found a 94 roller motor which i plan on putting a set of killer heads on like 2.02 and 1.94. i was just woundering is it possible to take all this electical stuff off ? because my compression will be around 9.5 to 10. i also changed out the gears and put 4.10s in it and pushing 35s for tirers.just need help with motor...thxs

Depends upon what trans it has, if it's the E4OD then you're pretty much SOL beause it is computer controlled and needs input from all the engine sensors to function properly. If however you got a manual or C6 then it's a lot more doable, you just have to put a regulator on the fuel system, wire in an ignition system, and then patch in the dash gauges.

You can upgrade the motor and maintain EFI but you have to be very selective with the parts you use because the system relies on a strong manifold vacuum signal. Heads, exhaust, and intake are generally not a big problem but the cam is critical.. you simply cannot use the same type of grind you would with a carbed motor it has to have well under 210deg intake duration and at least 114deg Lobe Seperation Angle(LSA).. something like the Crane 444232 is a good example.

All SBF engines use the same bellhousing bolt pattern so a C6 and E4OD will interchange as long as they are both SBF transmissions. So you can't use one from a BBF or diesel truck.
