im planning on putting long tube headers on my 96 f250 5.8 4x4 in the near future. i had it up on the lift today looking to see how the exhaust would be run. i havent seen long tubes on one of these yet. will the drivers side hang down lower to clear the transfer case? does anyone have pictures of their exhaust setup with long tubes? any help is appreciated.
Yep... pics of both a 5.0 and 5.8 with longtubes.. in the same truck. Don't buy Flowtech headers they hang way too low, I made them work but it wasn't easy.
As long as you get a set of long tubes intended for a 4x4, you'll have no issues.
This is a 460 in a 3/4 ton, but, you can get a good idea of how it'll look:
Ignore the nasty looking welds... Trying to buzz together exhaust tube with 7018 is not a good idea when you haven't use a stick welder in 10 years... lol
