Happy Memorial Day weekend! I ran my 2000/F350/7.3L/automatic/4X4 into the dealer for a recall item (cam sensor) and of course while they had it they identified $2K worth of additional work that should be addressed “ASAP!” P/S fluid leaking from pump, pump very noisy – recommend new pump $383.12 Oil leaks: intake/CAC connections/EPR seal/uppies $1326.04 ICP sensor and connector (sensor leaking into connector) $418.22 Both tie rods and both drag link ends have excessive play – “more investigation needed” Of course I was floored, I suspected some minor tweeks but damn!

There are a lot of dealers that pay mechanics a percentage on oversale. You took your truck in for the recall and they took the liberty of looking for something else to sell you. That would be the oversale. The problem with this is, there is an incentive for the mechanic to be dishonest. I was offered a position at a Honda dealer that did just that. A few months later the state busted them for misrepresenting the condition of vehicles in order to get those oversales. I never took the job.
Flush the powersteering yourself useing synthetic ATF. I'll bet noise goes away.
Intake oil leaks are a result of the CCV (crank case vent) routing. Do the CCV mod and check to make sure all your clamps are tight.
EPR seal leaking? I dought it. Clean the engine valley with degreaser and garden hose and double check. Generally when that is leaking it will make a big mess and be dripping under your truck.
Uppy leaks are common. Look at where they conect to the collector at the turbo. You are looking for soot around the connections and firewall. It may be easier to crawl under the truck and look up there with a flash light. The are not that hard to fix or you can get the bellowed uppies from Clay at RiffRaff and never have to do them again. ICP leaking into connector is also common and needs to be fixed if it is really leaking. Another easy one to change yourself. Takes all of 5 minutes if you take your time. You can get that from Clay or parts guy Ed.
As for your steering components. Have a friend shake the steering wheel back and forth while you crawl under the truck and look. Any movement between the parts indicates wear that should be addressed at some point. If you are not have steering, handleing, or tire wear issues, odds are there is nothing seriously wrong. You could also have it checked by an alignment shop you trust.
I second this, my work car went in after a drunk hit me. It went to service because she knocked the motor mounts loose. They ignored the motor mounts (I know what a broken set of mounts feel like, I used to do a lot of drag racing and busted them, and sometimes the chain to keep from busting them all the time) and told me the car needed 4k of work. On the way to my friends the trans mount let go an the motor dented the hood! Long story short a lot of these guys are on commission, doesn't necessarily mean they'll try to sell you a bill of goods, but doesn't mean they won't either. Off topic, I have a great new motor mount design for Mercedes I'm working on, apparently these cars has an issue with the stockers even if they're not in a wreck and the aftermarket doesn't support.
That's BS big time, you should have jumped there you no what!! , stay away from that dealer. That's the reason most on here don't deal with the dealership!!
