Thnx for Advice-Blinking Headlights Fixed
1976 F-150 4x4
Headlights were blinking on and off in a regular pattern. I followed the site's advice to
1. Clean grounds (did not fix problem but needed to be done),
2. Replace the dimmer switch ( didn't fix problem but works smoother and does not hang now, needed to be done anyway)
3. When those repairs don't resolve the issue - Replace the headlight switch in the dash- $ 30.00 @ NAPA.
Problem resolved. As is noted here in the forums, there are a lot of accessories that run through this switch which also serves as a relay of sorts.I was surprised to see how large/substantial this switch is.
Problem resolved. The headlights seem to shine brighter also.
Have had this truck since new and my Dad and I drove it from Arkansas all the way to Alaska and back when it was new in 1976. Drove the Alaskan Highway ( back when it was still mud and gravel) to Fairbanks and back to Arkansas. It has some history and will always be part of the Family..
