Power Steering Leak

I've been lurking for a while now and I just decided to register. There are a lot of good resources from knowledgeable people on this forum! I'm having an issue and I was hoping someone could help.

I just bought an 85 F150 for $600 on craigslist. I've wanted something to play with for a while and I figured now that I have the shop for it, the time is right. It ran like crap when I bought it (hesitating, stalling when you put it in gear) but I have it running ok now. (Still misses on acceleration but it it doesn't die anymore)

I came back from my maiden voyage with it the other day and I noticed that power steering fluid was leaking from my gear box and dripping out where the pitman arm goes in.

My question is is it easier/cheaper the replace the gearbox with one from a junk yard or do they make rebuild kits for these? I'm pretty good with my hands but as for a in depth technical knowledge of wrenching, I still have a lot to learn. Should I just replace the gearbox or rebuild it? The other threads on this forums had a couple different opinions.

It really boils down to whether the leak is just from the lower seal, or if the box is worn to the point that replacing the seal will not last very long.
Junkyard boxes are a crapshoot, and sometimes they are worse than what you already have.
Rebuilt boxes can be pricey, but they come with a warrentee.
Rebuilding one yourself is doable, if you have decent skills, and access to specialized tools.
