What do you guys think i should go with on leveling my truck? It's an '02 crew cab 4x4. I think the mini spring type that mounts on the bottom between the axle and leaf spring would be best? Also how much do I need, 2", 2.5", 2.7" 3" ??????? I don't want to sit nose high, just level...... If I can't get perfect level I'd rather be on the nose low side. I appreciate your input!
I have f-350 rear blocks and x-springs up front. The x-springs gave 1.5 inches of lift and it now sits a touch lower in the front. I would not go more than 2 inches. This way everytime you have some cargo you are not dragging ***.
I've got a set of the shackles off ebay I only used for about a week before I went with a lift, pm me if you're interested in buying them, they did a good job of leveling it out, I just needed more.
Theres a few routes to go with when leveling your truck. If you have the money go with a full spring kit. I know some guys do the shackle kits to level there trucks, and other will do the add a leaf kits. I personaly did the add a leaf kit, and my truck always sat with a crooked stance, and I'm not the only one who's had this problem. It does seems to be a problem with the add a leaf kits though. Now I don't think the shackle/leveling replacement kits should ever be a consideration. If you take a good a look at your stock springs, you'll notice they have a negative arc. When the truck was new, they were straight. Thru the years they begin to sag because the weight of the engine is directly over them, causing the negative arc that you now see. It is the more expensive route to go with, but if you can afford it, do the full spring/levling kit. This will also help improve the ride and the handling as well. It will ride alittle stiffer, but these are HD trucks designed to tow and haul, not ride silky smooth. .
I would recommend the leveling kit from Rough Country, I had their old springs and had an issue, called them and they took care of me so now I have their new springs and the ride is better than it has ever been. I like it better than it was stock. Their kit comes with springs, trac bar and shocks for about $450 if I remember right.
Got a regular ole Sanderson's leveling shackles on the front, very inexpensive solution, about fity bucks. It tightens up the front end a bit but I got the 2 inches I needed. It sits level but with a 7000 pound TT on my hitch it slouches a bit in the back. I got some F-350 block compliments of Keith Spdmopo to correct my issue.
The Sanderson's shackles can be found on E-Bay but I'm having trouble finding you a link but they are very good per customer service and getting things out for delivery from that stand point. Decisions, decisions.. good luck..
Just to throw my .02 in........ I went with the Rough Country leveling kit. It is a mini pack that goes under your front springs. I am more than happy with it, the truck rides great and has a nice stance to it now
Jim,
Glad that worked to your liking but to just clarify for the others my leveling kit from Rough Country was complete springs. I bet your's was less money though
