Spark plug thread repair

Good afternoon. I have a 1998 E150 4.2L V6. While changing plugs last Sunday the threads on number 4 cylinder pulled clean out of the head. While pulling the heads and /or motor is the proper way to repair this I have been searching for in car (van) repair kits. KD Tools and Time-Sert have kits which I think will work however none of these companies or others list kits for the 4.2l motor. They all list kits for the 3.8l. Can anyone tell me if the 3.8l and the 4.2l are the same plug size and configured the same. Or if any one else has had to have made this repair on the 4.2l what did you use??? Thank you in advance.

I do not know. I would compare the spark plugs speced for each motor.
You should be able to tell by the dimensions of the plug if the two heads are equivalent in regards to the plug hole.

I have heard good stuff about the Time-Sert product.

Thanks Brian A for the response. I'll check into the two plugs and go from there. I would think they would be very close.
