Ahh I see. Well these all have a white base on them...so I'll go down to ford after work and get the correct relays, and a quote on a new computer as well.

Take a jar of V, I fear they may bend'ith you over on the ECU! Pick yer parts yards sell em for @ $60 w/ 30 warrenty if they don't work & relay's are $5 or less (unless you forget one in your pocket). Or these guy's: http://fordecu.net/ (their server was down at time of this post). New or rebuilt w/ a core. ECU's are pretty robust as a rule. Most always outliving the vehicle. My factory harness relay connections are also green for F/P, brown for PCM, to eliminate confusion as to which go where. Your's aren't?

The actual relays themselves have a black top with a white base, they are stamped with ford on the top so I could only assume they were correct. I did not look at the fuse box.

Those relays are in the engine compartment, usually around the air filter box, both under a black plastic cover (sometimes black rubber). This cover they snap into, many times goes missing over the years. They should look similar to this, w/ an added colored base shroud attached to it, If a factory original anyway. The connector plugs into the shrouded section: http://www.fordfuelinjection.com/index.php?p=42 Not familiar w/ 92's. My 94' escort has a secondary under hood fuse box, but the plug in relays in the fuse box are for other things like A/C ect.., & the F/P & PCM relay's are still remotely mounted together next to the air box (& factory color coded).

I think we have a communications fault...I understand all of that, and where it is...what I was saying is that the relays I took out of it are not colored like your describing...I'll try and take a pic to show u what I mean. I went to ford and got tan eec relay, and ordered the f/p relay...I looked at it before I left and told him it didn't look right and it wasn't going to fit, but he said it was the replacement for the old one but it doesn't even look close to what I took out, so I told him i'd give it a go...probably look at it tomorrow

What does the fuse/relay legend say on the inside of the fuse box lid?
Do you have an electric cooling system &/or A/C?
I don't see any relays pictured!

the inside of the cover just says relay 1 thru 5, and calls out wether its a maxi fuse or STD, or diode. You have to look in the owners manual to find out what each one of them is for, and their amperage. Yes I have A/C, but i dont use it cuz its not cold...those fuses are in the cab by the steering wheel. I pulled the relays out to take the pic...and i took a pic of the relay I took out, and the one ford sold me...i put 3 pics in my album, did you see those?

From my experience, the relay w/o the shroud base is for non-exposed situations like an enclosed panel/ box. W/ the shroud base, is for exposed area's like an engine bay.

the third is just a pic of the truck. Well I'll work on getting the relay situation straightened out, as I said before the 3 relays I pulled out were for the horn, f/p, and the EEC...they were all the same..which is apparently wrong for the f/p and the eec, so when I replaced them all I did was replace them with the wrong ones. I went to a junkyard today but they closed at 12.

My work schedule is all jacked up right now with 16 hrs of O.T./week and my only day off will be sunday till june 24, so its probably gonna take me awhile. I'm looking for all of the ground points and cleaning them up right now...its hot as hell and it sucks!
