Hey guys,
First post here in years. My son and I embarked on a 72 SWB rebuild that has taken us almost 3 years. After swapping from a 360/C6 to now a FI 5.0/AOD, we finally got it running!
Question is about front end. I changed over the drum brakes to a 73 disc brake setup. Did this change my front track width?
Seems like my front end is several inches wider than the rear end track. about 4" actually.
So all 67-72s are wider in front track than back? I didn't know that. My options?
Leave as is?
Deeper rear offset wheels?
Replace with a 73-78 Rear end?
The width between the rear frame rails (behind the cab) on all 1961/72 F100/350's is 33 1/2 inches.
Beginning in 1973, the width between the rear frame rails is 37 1/2 inches (except on 1973/77 F250 4WD's and 1973/79 F350's on the 140" wheelbase ~ that are still 33 1/2" inches).
Because the rear frame rails are wider, the axle housings used on these later trucks are also wider.

Actually it's 65-72. I can't help with your options, that is your decision.
