78 400 timing?
I was Wondering How most of yall Set the timing on a stock 76 400 w/4spd 4x4. My timing Is just a Little off that about only way ya can tell is when ya kill the truck. Should I set it TDC or is there a better setting to use in this truck?

The best way to set timing is with a timming light. Most 400s are from 6 to 13 degrees btdc ( read before top dead center), If your truck runs on after you shut it off then retard the timming a little at a time untill it quits. Advance is clockwise , retard i counterclockwise. hope this helps.
