I had a sound like a gear slipping when I raised the window. The consensus said to replace the regulator so I did; same thing. I also had to help the window up. I replaced the motor and gearbox with a universal(fits several models) unit from Dorman. Wanting to find out what was the problem I took the gearbox apart and found the planetary gears were gone, crunched, bald. The motor came with several wires with plugs and I chose the wrong one; the switch worked backward. Changed to the right one and the window works great. You can change the regulator/motor without removing the window or tracks like it says in the Haynes repair manual. The top left rivet can't be replaced with a bolt and nut so I drove in 2 self tapping screws. This might make it easier for someone else to do the job. Online the total parts were a little over $100.
It might be helpful if you'd post the Dorman part number you ended up with on your 94 model.
It helps if we keep the window glass & track sprayed with silicone, so things slide easier & keep em clear, so ice & snow don't cause such a heavy operating load in winter.
Since my grey matter is known to lay down on me now & then & to help me remember, I spray my power window tracks twice a year, when I'm changing the engine oil & filter!!!!
Sure makes em run up & down easier & faster!!!!!
I lube the door locks, & hinges, hood & tailgate latches then also!!!!
