My truck is a 94 f 250 4x4 with 120k with a e40d tranny. The tranny will shift to fast about 4 times a day it does this fast and hard then it stops then the tranny is fine.It seems that its only one of the gears doing this as it does it only around 15 to 20 mph.it doesnt really slips it shifting to fast and hard sometimes .I was thinkign if i bring it to a tranny shop now maybe it will be cheaper then waiting any longer.anyone know why it would be doing this?also the truck has a snow plow on it.the guy i bought it from was a landscaper so who knows what he did to it.what would be causing this hard and fast shifting 4 times a day?any info will help thanks.
here's one, the computer may think you are in 4x4 low. Is your 4x4 light illuminated on the dash? The shift schedule in 4x4 low is very firm and fast shift timing, all 4 gears by 25mph. After you check your MSLP check the sensor on the T-case. It does need an aluminum seal washer between it and the case.
