Reactor Pump died.

Just for what it's worth, my reactor pump was a $19.99 special Clearwater Centrifugal pump (1/2 hp). It died after 615 gallons of Bio made. Found a 1 hp pump for $62.99 and will hopefully get more life out of it. Some of the oil that I got was rather thick, so I think it was just too much of a load on the pump. I am thinking that I need to tell that supplier that I just can't use his oil ...

Another Clearwater. This one is 1 hp instead of 1/2 hp. Would think the extra grunt would keep it from being overloaded like the other one. Input and discharge ports are the same size as the old one, so it should plug right in.

I have heard that the Northern Tool brand pump lasts longer than the Harbor Freight.

Crappy pumps are one reason why I went to mechanical mixing, and I use an air powered diaphragm pump to move the bio around.......
