I have a 2010 f-350 Job 1 and it has 2300 miles on it. I myself have had it regen three times on me and they are about 500 miles apart. It goes into regen and dosent seem to quit till I shut the truck off. I notice this last time so tonigh while on my way home it started to regen and I drove it with the cruise on at roughly 67mph for thirty miles. The computer still said it was cleaning exhaust filter. The turbo was running low psi and milage was lower then normal. Does this sound about right to have to shut down the the truck to get it out of regen, or should I take it in to the dealer and have it looked at.
In your case it does sound right because it has never completely finished on you. Try a little slower speed but put it in tow/haul mode to raise the rpms up. May help to increase the EGT's to burn the soot faster.
When i fired it up this morning it went directly into regen so I took it for another drive, and it never kicked out of regen. It has been in the regen cylcle for just over 100 miles now. I will take it out and drive it at a slower speed next time and put it in tow haul.
Thank you for the reply and the suggestions, I am new to this regne cycle my 7.3 didnt have it.
If it does not come out of regen then you need to take it in. Big thing is those EGT's getting up there. When it regens they can be anywhere from 1,000-1400 for a good regen to take place. Increase the rpms should help.
When my 08 did that the PCM had to be reflashed. The programming had become corrupt was what I was told. It still didn't run good after that so I took it back in and they changed out the drivers side battery as it was bad. That was almost 10k ago and it has run trouble free since then. I would take it in and have them check it out.

This is not right! The engine has to be up to temp in order to regen!
Mine will not start a regen cycle until the coolant temp gets to 186 degrees. If yours went into regen on a cold engine something is WRONG, get it looked at ASAP. Regen problems can cause engine failure, this really needs to get looked at soon.
