Opps ----- sorry my heart lies with the 80-86 trucks, but I gave up and went to the darkside after I could not find a decent 86 in this neck of the woods.
I will post properly! Mods - please delete this thread as it is posted wrongly.
1980-1991 F-series and bronco switches and modules are interchangeable.
Find yourself a 1980-1991 F-series or Bronco with intermitant wipers, remove the switch and the govenor box hooked to the switch and to the trucks main harness, then transplant it and hook it to your truck. Real simple upgrade and it is plug and play.
It would be better for you to find a module for a 1987-1991 truck as they were redesigned to fit into the dash better, but any module 1980-1991 will work.
Well, if the guy has a stalk thing and wants interval wipers, wouldn't he need a stalk that
can accommodate that? Apparently, stalk wiring will plug into that governor box? This'd
be cool to know, it means I can get a governor box from 1980 up to... to... to when?

Whoops, I misread what you meant by stalk. I thought you were talking about the stalk mount on the govenor that raises the govenor off the dash support.
You are talking about the steering column stalk wiper switch. (duh moment) That was introduced in 1992. Funny thing the English language.
As for interchangeability: Wiper modules and switches fit the following.
1980-1983 F-100
1980-1991 F-100/F-350 and U-150 (Bronco)
1980-1999 F-600/F-900
continuing on i have the same 1991 truck and i get that i need the switch and module will i also need a wiper motor from that year or are they same motors.
The motor is the same,
Only the switch is different, and the governor module plugs between the new switch and the existing wiring harness under the dash.
I have had issues with junkyard units not being fully functional, so you might pick up a couple switches, governors, etc...
The switch and governor in my truck now has high and low and the intermittent doesn't work right (can't adjust delay time much) and then I have another governor and switch that have low, no high, and properly-working intermittent. So you might end up mixing and matching.
