5.4 Internal engine question
Hi, I hope this isnt a stupid question but here goes...I'm in the process of replacing the crank, rod and main bearings due to a rod knock....I have only one problem...I took out all the main cap bolts in order to remove the bearing caps to get the crank out, and I can't get the caps off, I noticed the pins on each side of the bearing cap and I'm guessing they have to come out? If so, how do I get them out? As for working on a 5.4....this is a first for me, I'm an old school truck guy but I am helping out a buddy of mine....any help or tips you guys could offer would be appreciated. Thanks, Jack

Oh geez, well it was pretty late last night, I was trying to work a little late to be able to turn in the crank to avoid a core charge, I guess it was kind of a stupid question, I should have look around a little more, well thanks for the info, I thought I was losing it...lol. I gotta go pick up the book by George Reid, I have never worked on a modular engine b4. Thanks again, Jack
