yet another question

on my 60 f-100 with a 292 Ive got what I think is a crank case vent is this something I can get rid of as I always have some oil coming out of it and its starting to make a decent mess in the garage

Can't really see the pictures, but I guess it would be a crankcase, where is it coming from?

Yes you do need it.

There is another thread about PCV and re-routing that vent tube. Do an advanced search on "PCV for Y-Block" and you should be able to find it.
