9 inch upgrade
Question for ya guys. I have a 65 M-100 that I have rebuilt and hopped up. It has the original 9 inch in it and now is starting to act up. It has quite a bit of play and I would like to convert it to posi. It currently has 3.73 gears which I like but what causes the rear end to howl and be loose. These rear ends are 28 spline correct? If I put an auburn limited slip or similar with that be comparable to a limited slip center section. What all is involved in rebuild a rear end and approx cost? I have never really torn into a rear end but not afraid to do so. I realize that you need to set gear lash and ect but that does not really scare me. Thanks
