The dome light that was in my truck when I got it is a 1004 bulb. My local parts house doesn't carry this specific bulb. Does anyone know of a suitable substitute? Also is this the bulb that is supposed to go there? I don't want one that will light the cover on fire! Especially not right above the gas tank! LOL

The Sylvania site says the bulb should be a 1003??

To answer my own post, the dome light should be a 1003. The 1004 has two contacts on the base where as the 1003 only has one. The dome light housing has only one contact. So through process of elimination and the sylvania website I will deduce that the bulb is supposed to be a 1003.
