Upgrading speakers

Does anyone know the RMS watts or peak watts on the stock head unit? I am thinking of replacing the stock speakers in my 10 XLT Screw. Didn't want to go to the trouble of adding a converter and amp to power new speakers but I may have to. I like the look of the dash and stock unit so I don't want to change the head unit.

thanks.

I have not gotten mine yet, but I don't like the sound of the stereo much at all. There is no high end. My Chevy has A-pillar tweeters and that really brightens up the music. I thought about trying some Coaxes in the front doors to brighten things up a little.
They tell me you can put A-pillar tweeters in it, so I might do that.

Probably put my 8 inch sub under the back seat with my Alpine amp to add some thump.

When I had my 1999 F-150, I added Boston Acoustic 3 way speakers to the front and backseat speakers. That was with the stock radio-Cd player. Sounded much better.
Now someone else gets to listen to their tunes since I traded the truck for the '10.

Infinity Reference are about the best bang for your buck when not upgrading head unit/amp. They have a high sensitivity rating-works well with lower powered head units-and the silk dome tweeter is very smooth.
