Question

Is the front track width on the 56 f100 60 inches? Can't find it in the manual, only wheel base in there.

Hmmm I don't know it the front track of the 56 is 60 inches or if the front track of the 60 is 56 inches.

But, I'll bump this back up for you.

I don't have the front figure but the rear track width is 61.25 inches with stock wheels. Usually the front and rear track width are close to the same if not the same. I think you could assume 60-61 inches and be okay...

My '54 Dealer Handbook shows a schematic drawing from the rear that shows exactly 60". The drawing doesn't show any front wheels suggesting that they track the same as the rear, but that's just an assumption. Probably the same drawing for a '56 is in Earl's World, so you might check there too. Here's the chart. Stu

Thanks, I've seen that drawing in another post and couldn't find it. I've been away for a couple days so sorry for the delayed thanks. I thought that on the newer trucks that the front tracking might be wider than the rear, hope that's not the case here. I've got some calculating to do as far as back spacing goes as I need to get some rims with a positive offset because the chevy frame I used has a wider tracking than the original f-100 has, I've got serious tire rub issues at the moment.
