03-05 4wd switch help
Hi everyone I wanted to know can anyone with these year explorers please let me know if your 4wd switches next to your radio(the vertical 3 button push type) have a 2wd option at all. Im looking for a switch to use with my brown wire mod that looks somewhat close to stock. If not does anyone know what the message center switch for these years that mount in the same location looks like or do bc the tech at ford didnt have an idea. Thanks for your help.

I have an 04' Explorer NBX 4.6 ,,there is No 2wd switch,,I wish there was Just,,,
4x4 Auto
4x4 Hi
4x4 Low
I can feel the 4x4 Auto clutch chattering if I turn the steering wheel slightly when taking off from a stop,,Launch straight and Hard,,No Chattering !!

mine does that as well especially when I am going on say an on ramp or making a fast turn. It got slightly worse when I got larger tires but all works fine when I go slow. Would like the 4wd to last and not break, thus want to prevent unneeded auto 4wd from engaging. I have been just leaving the 4wd control module unplugged which does the same thing as the brown wire mod basically but I would like the convince of not having to pull over and plug it back in if I need 4wd.
