K&N Removal
I'm a noob. I just bought a 2003 F250 with a 6.0L and it came with a K&N filter (and I think the complete intake). The stock air box has been removed and it has a cone shaped K&N filter. I've read that these are not good for the diesel. What are my best options for getting rid of this filter? Can I simply replace the filter or will I have to replace the entire intake? Thanks.

From your description you lost the cold air intake as well.
I do have the severe duty OEM filter and running oil analysis shows very low dust pollution.
Not to mention that after 30k miles the filter indicator doesn't even move from clean position.
