i am geting ready to turn my 1990 f250 7.3 idi non turbo up. im now looking for a set of injectors...whats the biggest i can run with out a turbo and no computer and where can i get them?
Before turning anything up, you'll want to get a pyrometer. Doesn't take much tweaking to get high EGT's and engine damage.
Without a turbo, the stock injectors will flow more than enough fuel to feed the engine. Any more is just wasted and will give you excessive smoke and poor economy.
You should be able to turn it up 1-2 flats with a good stock pump and injectors. But, every engine will react differently so the pyro can help you monitor how much is right for you.
There is no computer controlling the engine on an IDI.
