! Well, I'm at the "drive my truck off a bridge" stage again. I've got an '89 351w. A few days ago I finished putting a new high volume oil pump in, during which I had to cut my new exhaust to get the pan down. This morning I went out and The Beast... or Christine, as I've taken to calling her... wouldn't start! Checked a few things, then grabbed the starting fluid, and she started right up and then died. I only had an 1/8 tank of gas, so I added some, sprayed some more starting fluid in and she started. I let it run for 15 minutes or so, breathed a sigh of relief, and shut it off. Afew minutes later I tried to start it and same thing all over again. This time I'm well over 1/4 tank, so its not that. I can hear the in-tank pump running and I can feel the frame pump running. With KOEO test I get a code 31(which I've always had even after new EGR), and codes 87 and 95. The book says primary and secondary fuel pump circuit fault, but I have no idea what this means! Is it possible the frame pump is going bad? The in-tank is only 1 month old, so I don't think it's that. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Hmmmm just a hunch but if you ran that tank that low, it is possible you sucked up some trash into your fuel filter. Change your fuel filter and give that a go.
