Body lines are all off, the '70s fenders and hood will not line up even remotely with the bricknose doors and cab. You can use '80-'86 front clip, or '92-'96, both will work good as the cabs are essentially the same from '80 to '96 ('97 for some F250s and F350s).
Unless by a front end you mean front axle, which is a totally different story there.

I like them a lot too, but next time you see one notice how much more rounded the cab is and how much fatter and curvy the doors are than what you have on your '89 - this is why the swap won't work, things are just way too off.
