Power Steering and VIN help
I have just purchased my wife a perfect 1964 Ford F250 for her 50th Birthday. Extraordinary shape, no dings, no rust, arrow straight and a lot of fun. 292 Y-Block that purrs and looks brand new. It's a two wheel drive 4-speed with (what seems like) a extra long bed. I took a leap of faith on this one and don't regret the decision because the price was right. Although in hindsight a F-100 may have been a wiser choice from a parts point of view.
I'd like to post the VIN for some decode help: F25CR567922
However, I'd like to ask about the possibilities of power steering conversion.
The great folks at BlueOvalTruck tell me that the only conversion kit available for the '64's are for the F-100, but they are working on one for the F-250.
An outfit in Arizona does them, but I'm on the East Coast. etc.
Would a new steering box be a worthwhile investment as a stop-gap?
It's not for me, but for the wife. You know the drill.
Anyway any input would be greatly appreciated on the VIN and I will defer to you all on the power steering help.
Best regards and thanks a million! -- Jumpugly
