Quad Pillar too crowded?

I plan on ordering gauges for my truck tonight and I'm trying to decide between getting a standard 3 pod pillar or getting a 4 pod and getting the DP gauge switcher. Is a 4 pod too crowded? Is either the top gauge or bottom gauge difficult to see? I'm getting Boost, Pyro, and Tranny Temp. But I thought it might be cool to get the DP gauge switch and add it to the pillar. Would that be a good idea or should I just keep my EX switch?

honestly i think it might be, i even think the 3 is a little crowded esp if you have tintened windows its harder to see out. really its up to you, i think it looks sweet but functionality might be a little difficult. not sure if its an issue with sun visor either, i know my tripple just clears

The dp tuner has a clip that goes around the gauge when installed and looks great. I plan on getting the four gauge pod because I want to add oil temp. Its nice to monitor when towing heavy trailers, 5th wheel etc.
The bracket is only a dollar or so and the f5 f6 go right in.

I think I'm just gonna go with the 3 pod and probably get the EX switch gauge mount and put it next to the bottom gauge.

Edit: Bonanza beat me to it!

you can either get an f650 dash (look in my gallery) or you can put the dp tunner right behind the shifter (if auto) i think it looks great there. something about that mount for the trip pods i dont like..just me though.

My EX is almost right beside the ignition just above the fuse panel. I cant always see what tune I'm running and I hit it with my knee every once in a while so I want to relocate it.

Here, you can decide for yourself. This picture is taken from the driver's point of view if your eyes were at a point just slightly below the head rest and of course looking at the gauges.....

I know the top one is empty but that is because I don't have the $$ for the fuel gauge that is going to go in there. I have other priorities atm.

Well, I might be a little late, but here's my .02 I have a 4 gauge pod and like it. Occasionally it can be a little hard with how I have my seat set to clearly see all gauges. The only thing I would do different that I have heard is getting a gauge mount bracket for the old style DP switch so I could add a functional gauge (fuel pressure) to my cluster with the switch to the side. I do like the F5 switch, however. Good luck on the decision. Still glad I did it.

On edit: my sun visor does hit the top pod a little when I use it, but nothing serious.

You coming down to the RRW event in Scio?

Mine too, funny you mention that. I remember flipping it down after I stuck my gauges in and I was like WTF... LOL
