Got a new one on me. The steering in my truck seems to have a little bit of wander. Pulled out of a parking spot yesterday and got lined up on the road, but centering the wheel produced a pull to the left.
Got her straightened out after wiggling the wheel a bit, and then had to take a right hand corner, only to have her pull to the right (again wheel was centered) after going around the corner.
I'm thinking a bushing may just be worn, but wanted to check with everyone here and see if someone had come across a similar slop in the steering system.
First thing to come to mind are ball joints. Find a local 4x4 or truck shop that has experience
with the 80s TTB front end, they should be able to inspect it (and, hopefully, even show you)
and tell you its condition for a reasonable fee. Again, ask if you can watch and see for yourself.
i have a similar problem but haven't taken mine in yet..... fixing other "minor issues" like leaking gas tanks and replacing brake lines first.... hopefully in a couple more weeks though....

Thanks, I was concerned it was going to be something like that. I'll take it in and have them take a look.

heh my tanks weren't leaking but the lines were. Brake lines look ok for me though.
