Xlt upgrades??

I have an 05 Xlt and there are a few things that I want to upgrade/change maybe someone can give me some info.

I don't have the over head gas/trip gauge but is it pre-wired already up there?

and I have the jump seat in mine, if I bought a center consle is it just a bolt on and are the wires pre-ran for that?

Thanks for any info.

The jumpseat easily swaps out for the console. I assume the wires for the rear controls are there already.

As for the overhead, I don't think that its pre-wired. I'd think you would have to get a new harness for it as well as the unit itself. Others will chime in.

Based on what i've seen, taking 2 excursions apart - I would not assume any of the wiring you need is there for you. It seems ford made a specific harness for each trim level and for each option. My experience is with a 2002 limited and a 2000 XLT, but maybe by 2005 they streamlined their wiring harnesses... good luck.

Some have used the 08 console, and not worried about the wiring. I'm sure if you pulled up on the carpet you would be able to see if you have the wiring there if you wanted to go that route.
I think the same on the overhead, you would have to pull down the liner to see if you had the harness there or even a point to plug into.
