Hello all, it is so nice to find a ford forum sight!!! Forgive me if I am posting in the wrong section. I have been fixing up my old 59 ford this past winter after having the vehicle for 20 years. It was originaly a longbed but now it's a shortbed. It used to be 2 wheel drive but put it on a 78 4x4 frame. and now i did the sheetmetal work. it's coming along very nicely but I have run into a snag......Doors, I am looking for 2 good doors hopefully with the bottoms and skins in tact. Mine are totaly rotted from about 10 inches down. If anybody has any or even knows where to find them I would greatly appreciate your help..
You can re-skin the bottoms with 18 gauge steel since it is not a compound curve and is curved only slightly in that area. Depending on how bad the rest of the door is, this may be your best option.

Yes i could reskin the door. and build new bottoms for them and beat the dents and creases out but I really would prefer better doors and will continue my search. I would like to finish this truck before july but if i have to fix the doors i figure about 30 hrs or more each. I work in a fab shop so nothing is totaly impossible to fix but like I said it's more of a time thing . also if i were to patch them up they would still be patched up and full of bondo just to rust out a few yrs down the road. I got these doors as replacements for the old ones yrs ago out of a scrap yard and they had multiple cars stacked on top of the donor truck so they are a little bent kinked creased dented and now totaly rotted. So rotted i can stick my finger through the bottom ten inches inside and out. to add to the problem I had to plasma cut the plate inside the door the hinge bolts to get the drivers door off the cab.
