300 Problems - Ignition Suspect Somehow
Hi All,
I have a 79' F-150 and recently have been having problems with my engine. One problem is with the ignition, while under the timing light, I notice a distinct miss in the spark. This problem is also seems to be amplified when you punch the gas (meaning that when I punch the gas, it will miss a spark).
The other problem that I'm having may be connected to the previous problem. When under power/heavy acceleration the engine will stutter and backfire.
Also recently its been back-firing through the carb, and has always had a slight rough idle (which doesnt go away with timing)....
As some may ask here is a list of things that I have recently replaced/rebuilt within the last year.
Fuel Pump
Fuel Filters
Rebuilt Carb
Cap and Rotor
Wire Set
Ignition Regulator
Coil
Timed and Tuned
