i got a 95 f150 5.0 4r70w tranny i lost the tranny so i had a donor truck identical to it so i swapped the tranny and in the donor truck the od light worked perfectly but i put the tranny in my 95 and the od light is blinking,,, i changed the sensor on the rear end and also i changed the gear shift handle but still blinking any ideas. im puzzled.
Check for trouble codes, might just be a connection problem, if so the KOEO (Key On, Engine Off) test should fail. Computer may or may not have any, if not I'm thinking PSOM.
If you have a donor swap the one from it in and see if that corrects the problem, that is if testing gives you nothing to go on.
i changed the vss on the rear differential so the psom is behind the guage cluster. do you know what it looks like so i can tear that apart thanks for your help.

Sorry didn't realize you responded asking where the PSOM was located.
Its directly behind the speedo, it is the speedo, if you're still around and need it let me/us know and will post pictures of it.
I got one around here someplace, I'll dig it up and take pictures of it if you'd like me to.
I think "Subford" has pictures on file ready to go? maybe he'd post some for ya? or anyone else has em handy....
so that thing could cause the od light to blink cause seems like my speedo works just fine but can i take it from the 96 donor truck what the tranny came out of. thanks and pics would help. one last thing if i turn the key to run without starting it the od light turns on and off fine but when i start the truck up it keeps blinking. so im gonna change the psom tomorrow thanks for the help guys i really appreciate it thanks,
