I have a 2006 Expy with 50,900 miles on it. It has been running great. I filled up with fuel at a station I have never been to before, drove the vehicle home w/overnight sitting,
ran about fifty more miles of which I started to get a shudder and finally a check engine light. the code said my number two cylinder had detected a misfire. I had to get home, so I drove it home about five miles and another code set saying number one cylinder had detected a misfire. I checked the injector wires with a noid light and they are working. I replaced two coils and all spark plugs with the Motorcraft sp507 originals. Still have the same things: number two misfire, number four misfire, combination multiple misfiring. Can anybody help me? With this misfire, it makes a sound in the intake like clinking. Please help!
i am sure that random cylinders would be misfiring if it was crap gas, but who knows maybe thats it, if it was me i would go to advanced auto patrs ( or whereever you deal with) and buy a new coil and plug, the cop's are famous for this..., the coil is 49.99 at advanced or autozone, but autozone only warrantys theirs for 3 months and advanced warrantys theirs for 1yr,
